Farah is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Farah has experience handling a range of civil and commercial disputes, as well as arbitration matters under the auspices of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration Rules. She has appeared at all levels of the Singapore Courts including the Appellate Division of the High Court and Court of Appeal. She has also assisted in several trials and appeal proceedings, and argued various contentious applications in the High Court (at first instance) including summary judgment, committal proceedings, specific discovery, amendment of pleadings, sealing and stay of proceedings in favour of arbitration.

Aside from commercial and civil disputes, Farah has advised and acted for local and foreign individuals in both contentious and non-contentious matters in the Family Justice Courts, relating to the division of matrimonial assets, maintenance, and custody, care and control of children. She also has experience in criminal defence work and bankruptcy matters.

Farah has acted in the following notable cases and reported Judgments, amongst others:

  • Assisting counsel in an appeal to Court of Appeal pertaining to liability and sentences of individuals who disobeyed a Mareva injunction order: Aero-gate Pte Ltd v Engen Marine Engineering Pte Ltd and another appeal [2020] 2 SLR 822; [2020] SCGA 73
  • Assisting counsel in a trial before High Court pertaining to a shareholder’s minority oppression claim: See Eng Siong Ronnie v Sassax Pte Ltd and another [2020] SGHC 96
  • Assisting counsel in a High Court trial pertaining to a claim for a declaration that the directors of a company be personally liable for a judgment debt owed by the company: Marina Towage Pte Ltd v Chin Kwek Chong & Anor [2021] SGHC 81
  • Successfully defended an application filed by an individual to set aside a judgment entered in default of appearance: Blue Amethyst Maritime A.G. and another v G Diana Naidu [2021] SGMC 28
  • Assisting counsel in appeal proceedings before Appellate Division of the High Court pertaining to the doctrine of res judicata, the extended doctrine of res judicata and issue estoppel: Sim Kwai Meng v Pang Moh Yin Patricia & Anor [2022] SGHC(A) 1
  • Assisting counsel in proceedings before High Court and Court of Appeal pertaining to issues of whether the Arbitral Tribunal had acted in excess of its jurisdiction and in breach of natural justice: CDM and others v CDP [2021] 4 SLR 1272; [2020] SGHC 141 and CDM & anor v

  • Advised and acted for ex-husband in appeal proceedings before the Family Division of the High Court relating to custody, care and control and maintenance of the child: VWQ v VWR [2022] SGHCF 5
  • Assisting counsel in a criminal trial pertaining to charges for abetment by conspiracy to commit criminal breach of trust by a servant in respect of properties valued at over US$5 million
  • Advised and acted for a subsidiary proprietor in a District Court claim brought by a MCST seeking a mandatory injunction against the subsidiary proprietor
  • Acted for a former director of a company in successfully resisting an extension of time application to apply for a committal order
  • Represented a company in an arbitration under the Singapore International Arbitration Centre Rules where the dispute arose out of a shipbuilding contract.
  • Represented a company in an arbitration under the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration Rules for unpaid lumpsum freight.
  • Represented a company in an arbitration under the Singapore International Arbitration Centre in a claim for non-delivery of goods
  • Represented a developer in a multi-million-dollar claim and counterclaim relating to construction of a residential property
  • Acted for an individual in successfully resisting an appeal to the Family Division of the High Court to reduce access to his child
  • Acted for an individual in successfully obtaining a summary judgment pertaining to a loan amounting to over S$600,000
  • Represented a foreign company in successfully resisting an application to set aside a judgment in default of appearance pertaining to a claim amounting to over S$1 million.
