Having spent a decade in practice, Jin Sheng’s experience spans across insurance work, commercial litigation and arbitration, construction disputes, criminal defence work and family law.
He is often instructed by insurers to advise on insurance cases of a high-profile nature, involving complex legal and factual issues. He also has an extensive and active Chinese practice, representing numerous Chinese clients in construction and telecommunications related matters.
Jin Sheng’s experience in insurance covers an extensive area, including but not limited to medical negligence (covering claims made against Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners and physiotherapists), aviation and marine policies, Contractors’ All Risk policies, professional liability / indemnity policies and Business Interruption policies. Some of the major aviation matters he has been instructed on include:
(a) advising on the wing-to-wing collision between a Scoot Boeing 787 and an Emirates Airbus A380 on 30 March 2017 at the Changi Airport;
(b) acting as Singapore counsel for the aircraft incident involving Cathay Pacific Flight 780 at the Hong Kong International Airport on 13 Airport 2010; and
(c) advising on a property damage claim to fuel pipelines at the Changi Airport.
